Thanks for your interesting comments Stacey....
I was able to run PSK31 this morning at almost perfect copy on L1 for the
first time !!!
My PSK31 copy in the past has been less than 10%. Did not make any
difference
if I was on L1 or L2. Even my CW tone sounded good on L1 this morning.
Nice to see that the "rumble/warble" is gone, at least for now.
I was concerned that maybe the "rumble/warble" was due to my L-band IC-1275
radio.
BUT, now I can rest easily, knowing that is not the case.
RTTY is not effected by the "rumble/warble". Since PSK31 uses some sort of
phase shift
modulation I guess the "rumble/warble", radar, or whatever really messes it
up.
Fantastic perigee pass this morning !!!!!!
Regards
Rick

Kevin,
I believe it is a coincidence that L1 has gotten better with RUDAK off. We
have tested this before. I also wondered if the two were related, but
tests earlier showed that they are not. The L1 "rumble" seems to be due to
RADAR interference which as been with us for several weeks and has gotten
much better in the last few days. L2 is slightly less sensitive than L1
and does not seem to suffer from the interference.
