I use a 3+ foot portable dish and stock ADIC converter with its built in
linear dipole (not circular) and with no mods other than snipping out the
coax stub filter, and I think I hear just about everything... using a
substandard scanner at 123 MHz...

The added 3dB of a 3 footer over a 2 footer covers over a lot of sins..
make it circular and pick up anotehr 3dB and wow..
