I have a TH-D7A (G), and on page 55 of the TH-D7A manual it states:
"FULL DUPLEX"
"This transceiver is also capable of simultaneously transmitting and
receiving signals. So it is possible to transmit audio on the current band
while receiving packet data on another band (data band)."
PRESS [DUP] to enter the Full Duplex mode."
I tried it out on my TH-7DA(G) and it transmits on band A while receiving
on band B...any other questions? Yes it works duplex for voice, too. I
suspect the guy you talked to at Kenwood should go back to serving stereo
customers and forget ham radios ;-)
This is a premier Leo satellite radio...not duplex??? Also kind of nice on
APRS.
