Mounting the feed on an 18" DSS dish is not that difficult.  The LNB is
aluminum and easily modified with a hacksaw once you take the plastic cover
off.  I don't have any pix, but I cut off all but about the last 3 or so
inches (measured from the bottom), drilled two 1/4" holes, and mounted my
helix reflector using two 1/4" bolts.

You can also "gut" your old DSS LNB before you cut it.  The only difficult
part is getting past their weatherproofing material.
