Despite its oval shape, the Primestar dishes are great because of their ease
in being able to add a feed to the existing dish (once you remove the LNB,
there is still a metal bracket or extension that reaches up to the focus of
the dish, unlike the DSS dishes where the LNB and the smaller extension are
all one piece). I drilled a hole in the bracket and use a bolt and wingnut
to hold the helix back plate in place. I run portable, so I wanted something
I can set up and tear down easily. You can also use the two bolts on top of
the bracket, to either clamp a double male N-connector in between, or to
mount a small angle bracket that would also connect to the back of the patch
or helix feed.
