Hmm I guess I shouldn't have referred to my loyal ole DX-440 as a ratshack
which I have heard others jokingly refer to Radio Shack products). Have had
it for many yrs of faithful service, but it got even with me. I had the
power adapter plugged into my Heart Interface power inverter( only outlet
near balcony door that wasn't full) so I could listen and see strength meter
while adjusting the dish. I went and unplugged the power supply and the
inverter popped four of its power Fets, big time puff of smoke. . Oh well,
it is about 25 yrs old too, and has been in constant service for most of
that time. Guess I can't complain about it really after working so well for
so long. Have to see if the power fets are still available or just get a new
one. Just had bought a new set of deep cycle batteries last week. Oh well,
when it rains it pours lol.
