Just how attenuating are fir trees at 2.4Ghz?

Bad. Obviously depends on the density, but this morning I was out portable
with M0TAD and as soon as the bird dropped behind some trees the signal
dropped markedly. Finally, behind a completely wooded area we too couldn't
hear the MB at all.

Sometimes there are benefits of being a city dweller ;-)
