AO-40

Hi all,
I hopefully have received AO-40 for the first time this morning.. I am
using a primestar dish w/ a patch feed ant, a AIDC downconverter, and
feeding that into a Hamtronics CA144-28, then to my old Ratshack DX-440
communications receiver. I started looking around 12:29 utc and found what
should be the beacon at 29318 ( gave me a 3 0n the radios scale of 5). Found
cw from around 29310 to 29315 and ssb from about 29325 to 29.335 with most
around 29333. I couldn't clearly bring up and of the conversations even
though I kept hearing a warble tone at times that must be LEA. By 1300 hrs
the center of the beacon has move to about 29322. Wow, when I can just
barely get someone I can maybe tune in to make out, LEA comes on and he is
gone. Looks like I am going to need a much better receiver. Just found
someone around 29346, but just can't make him out, now LEA got him.. I will
keep listening and see if I can finally make someone out.

Chris
