Subject: AO-7 Excellent voice and SSTV Performance !!

  Hello All,
AO-7 was launched in 1974 and recently discovered by Pat Gowan,
G3IOR to have a rebirth
and back on the air! It was performing in an excellent fashion this AM
July 11, 2002 beginning around
13:00Z as its footprint passed through Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.. AO-7 was in
Mode B . I was
transmitting on 432.151.5 MHz and received on 145. 953.5 MHz. I called CQ
for
a long time with very strong return voice signals. Since no one responded I
decided to
test the ISS SpaceCam1 setup at my station and sent an SSTV picture
thru AO-7.
I recorded the picture I received from my return signal and it has the time
stamp at 13:07 Z.
A little noise but otherwise very good. I'm guessing but I believe this
may be the 1st SSTV picture thru AO-7 since
its rebirth ? Would others be interested in seeing what quality of video
comes through AO-7 and also send some pictures? I will be standing by for
some of the future AO-7 passes through Cincinnati. .
For those not acquainted with SpaceCam1 it is the SSTV System being
completed by the group of us on the Marex-NA team which will be installed on
the International Space Station.. Further details may be found in Marex-NA
web site: http://www.marex-na.org.
The picture that I sent and received may be posted later on the Marex-NA
web.
