Hi Larry,
Short answer : very close to 800 Hertz between the two tones.
Slightly longer answer:
Based on a section of a WAVE file recording of the FSK beacon
(provided to me by Jim Walls, thanks again Jim!) the two tones
appear to be very close to 800 Hertz apart. However, the high tone
gains a little bit during its transmission and the low tone is losing
a little bit during its transmission. Each tone quickly stabilizes.
Nominally about 800 Hertz apart based on the stable sections.
Your milage probably will vary.
Larry: What *WAS* the value of the FSK shift you determined
years ago ?
