APRS Grows in Japan

N2LBT observed several APRS stations coming on line in Japan. You can
look at all of them on the FINDU.COM web page and then just select "nearby
stations" to see all of them.

 http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?call=JA1VSY-2

Its intersting to see the variety of APRS in use:

JA1VSY UIview 50 mi NW of Tokyo
JK1MLY MacAPRS 15 mi in W.Tokyo
JL1STM WinAPRS a PCsat IGate on 145.825
JO3SEN Kenwood 10 mi NW of Yokohama (two stations on the air)
JA1YKX WinAPRS YOKHHAMA (The Kenwood Club station)
JL1IBD Kenwood moile in Yokohama
JA2HNR UIview 22 mi NE of Shizuoka
JA2RLO UIview 35 mi SE of Nagoya
JA2CMJ UIview 18 mi SW of Nagoya

It won't take too many more stations on the air to form the critical
mass necessary to provide a live RF network since, in APRS, any home
stations are automatically a digipeater for everyone else.

FREQ is 144.640 MHz and typical digipeater paths are RELAY or WIDE or
WIDEn-N for the few that are UIview stations...

So if you are in Japan, and you have a radio and TNC (or soundcard and
recent APRS software that can use it), put those radios on the air on
144.640 MHz and lets get the RF network on the air!
