Hello Dave,
I do not found the exact component for your converter, but i can say to you,
that
in the DRAKE model 2880 they are the same transistor ( RF1Z or RF4Z), and in
this
case you can change it by a BFQ 17 (also a SOT89 case).
This is only a simple cascode amplifier without mystery.
Anything normaly using in CATV distribution are OK (Ft of 3 to 4 GHz and Ic
around 150 mA).
