The bearings are 1/4 inch (.250) . I miked them out when I replaced
them last year in my Azimuth Rotor, the ones in the elevation rotor are
the same. BTW, Norm's Rotator service has them for about $15.00/100,
which is probably more than competitive with your local hardware store.
IIRC it takes about 100 to do the Azimuth rotor and probably about 75 to
do the elevation rotor. If you haven't already done so, check the
Azimuth rotor as well, sometimes water gets trapped inside and causes
premature corrosion of the bearings. A drain hole can be drilled or
enlarged to help the situaltion, so take care. You may want to consider
Stainless Steel balls if the rotor is in a hard to service location,
(such as the top of a tower), but they are harder to find and will be
more expensive. Use White Lithium Grease to reassemble the whole works
and you will be fine.
