I have used my Kenwood TH-F6 to make SSB contacts on AO-40. I use it as
the 145 Mhz IF for my downconvertor, and I must say that it works very
well. If I could only find a way to remove the chirp when keying it on FM(
sadly, it doesn't transmit SSB or CW ) on 435 Mhz, I could have a chance at
the smallest AO-40 Station, hi..
Additionally, out of the 15+ handhelds I have owned, it is certainly the
best and has gotten the most use.. I highly recommend it..
