I can't answer the question, but yes, I noticed exactly that on a pass this
morning. The beacon frequency position at ~145.972 was loud and clear, but the
images were ratty sounding. However, I was uplinking with only 3 watts up the
pipe to a KLM 22c and my return was very loud and clear...Couldn't find any
takers though...
