AO-7 over Europe



Hello all

Here are some observations on three consecutive  S => N evening passes over
Paris.

26 june 2002

Orbit 26350
Out of eclipse at 15:57 UTC
AOS at 16:12 UTC
Mode B transponder and 145,875 MHz TLM active
Some EU stations on the air

Orbit 26351
Out of eclipse at 17:52 UTC
AOS at 18:00 UTC
Mode B transponder and 145,875 MHz TLM active
Contacted F1ORL and DG1YR in SSB mode with 20 W RF to 10 el RHCP yagi on
uplink
Called CQ in CW mode: Downlink sig amplitude increasing linearly when uplink
was adjusted from 5 W to 20 W. No downlink difference when uplink was
varying from 20 to 40 W.
At 40 W, the 145,873 MHz beacon freq was following my dots and dashes.

Orbit 26352
Out of eclipse at 19:47 UTC
AOS at 19:52 UTC
Sat inactive during the 22 minutes entire pass. No beacons on 29, 145 or 435
MHz

Orbit 26353
Out of eclipse at 21:42 UTC
AOS at 21:49 UTC
Too late for me, I went to bed :o)
