Finally managed to work Mirek after setting my alarm for 3.30AM local time!
He was using CW about 40k up from the beacon. Nice signal

His on-line log shows 8000 + QSOs so I guess calling CQ on AO-40 must be 
costing him a lot of HF contacts.
