Northeast balloon Saturday to carry APRS and VOR navigation system

Another good northeast US balloon launch, this time it looks
like it will be igated (the New Hampshire CAPSAT balloons a
few weeks ago were not on 144.39).
This is pretty interesting because the CW will carry
telemetry containing bearing data derived from the VOR
aviation navigation system that will enable the balloon
position to be determined.

HamBONE-02A, Saturday, May 25th around noon EDT. Launching
from Rifton, New York, about 11 miles north-northwest of
Poughkeepsie. The upper winds forecast points to a
Connecticut landing.
The flight is expected to last about 2 hours, with tracking
and recovery into the afternoon. Rain date is Sunday the 26th.
Main telemetry beacon on 28.212 MHz, 50 mW CW to a vertical
dipole. APRS tracker on 144.39 MHz, callsign KA2QPG-11, using
TinyTrak II.
