AO40 L Band uplink and distortion

Hi All

Beginning from the last week the AO40 L1 uplink is affected by distortion
as received by several stations in the S2 downlink.

The effect of distortion was evident this morning listening the S2 downlink
from several stations using the L1 uplink i.e G3XWY,DC1JU,DK3FF,i6PNN
and my self i8CVS

The effect of distorsion is similar to FMing and is not related to the power
used for the uplink and is better recognizable on CW and it sound similar
to the EME libration effect from the moon.

However readability is not affected to a great extent by this type of
distortion but the quality of modulation is by far degraded because the
SSB modulation is not clear and it sound gurgling.

Those stations using U band uplink are not affected by the above
mentioned distortion.

Any explanation and suggestion ?
