[amsat-bb] VHF/UHF Multimodes, Transverters, and power spikes

I was told the FT-847 emits a power spike regardless of ALC/Gain setting,
which could be damaging to a transverter. I have also seen references to a
mod to prevent this. Can anyone provide me a link or a reference to this
mod?


Can anyone provide a list of rigs known not to emit the spike for
transverter use?
