Considering the size and gain of the S2 antenna, mode S has kicked some
serious...ahem--I mean...has done very, very well.
Those of us who were lucky enough to get to use the S1 downlink (the
one with a reasonable size antenna with a fair bit of gain) during it's
unfortunatly short life know how much better a signal it presented.
I think we should consider AO-40 to be the most sucessful amateur
spacecraft that ever blew up. :-)
