My KAMPlus TNC has DAMA slave mode support in it...and the docs says 
some fellow named Peter Guzelow DB2OS was part of the DAMA test team 
for Kantronics. :-)  

Judging by the write-up in the KAMPlus docs, this protocol looks to me 
like it has some potential for finally providing some sort of order on 
1k2 satellite packet when the channel is crowded....especially if the 
9612 will support running as a DAMA master. I'd be willing to help out 
if an experiment is set up.

This may also eexplain why we see so many connection requests when 
PCSAT is over EU; the folks over there may be assuming that unless they 
issue a connection request, the bird will never poll them to transmit. 
I'm not sure what happens to UI frames with a DAMA slave. I suppose I 
should RTFM the references. :-)
