[amsat-bb] smeter

Hello everyone, this is not as techical as the stuff I have been reading on
the board.
 I am using a ft-847 for the satellites. On ao-40, when I tune in the beacon
I get a s-meter reading of s-8 from perigee to apogee. Thats with a squint
under 25. The meter is normal under qso conditions . I changed from a 2 foot
solid dish and patch feed to a 3 foot dish, with off set feed. Also using a
uek 3000 downconverter mounted at the rear of the feed.
Copy with the later system is q5 all the way. Just wondering why the meter
stays at s-8 all the time during these conditions. (on becon readings)
