[amsat-bb] 3 foot dish

Just a little interesting info to the group.
Bought a 3 foot dish and helix antenna system from Glen Rollins(n3iyr) in
the late fall. Just got a chance to put it on my small tower on the roof.
I was using a 2 foot dish with a patch feed and a uek downconverter.
 The difference was outstanding. I picked up almost 3 db more gain. Making
qso's enjoyable at a higher squint and a distance of 37 thousand miles. I
even worked a couple dx stations this am through the pine trees, and that
was unthinkable with the 2 footer. I am not much of a builder, so I opted to
go with the ready made setup.
