If you are interested in decoding the AO-40 whole orbit data (WOD) blocks
present in the telemetry archives, and you have a computer that runs a
variant of Windoze 95 or higher, go to my web site:
http://www.cstone.net/~w4sm/ham1.html
....and download the last in my list of available programs called WodGraph.
This software will decode the single (512) byte WOD blocks present in the
AO-40 telemetry archives. Alternately, you can capture these "live" as
single block files if you have P3T. To do this, when a WOD block
(currently K or L), displays in the P3T telemetry window, L-click on the
window and the single block will be saved as K-blk.dat or L-blk.dat in
your telemetry directory. This will only work if the CRCC is OK for that
block. More information is available in the P3T Help file under "Telemetry
Window."
Note also that the WOD only saves the least significant byte (LSB) of the
orbit number. In the main window of WodGraph, you must supply the most
significant byte (MSB), which is currently "2". This will be stored in the
Registry if you close the program with the "X" in the upper right. The
values in the Setup window allow flexibility if the format for the WOD's is
ever changed, but currently the default values are correct.
The "drag/drop" feature is the fastest/easiest way to load a file into
WodGraph for decoding/graphing.
Enjoy!!
