RE: setup Yaesu FT-100D up-down

Gary,
You have that right. In my manual they do not provide a print of the mic
with it's related ICs. In disgusts, I ran record player tone arm wire (very
small) up to the mic and soldered across the up/down buttons. Not very
scientific but it works fine. I then covered the combined mic wire and tone
arm wire with some of that corrugated black wrap that is slit so you can
install over the wire instead of having to fish it through.
By the way, the best correction I found was to set the FT-100D to 25 cycle
steps and the AR4ORcv to 30 cycle steps. I also am finding that a center
frequency setting of 1400 cycles on the AO4ORcv Rig-Control seems to work
fairly well. The problem is when the spin creates deep fades and the program
losses sync, it tends to start tuning the rig like mad and never seems to
truly stabilize. I will continue to tinker with the Rig-Control freq until I
find it's natural stable point. (If there is one.)
Good luck,
73

How are you patching into the up/down on the FT100D? I appears to be only
one line that is voltage sensitive, something like 3 volts for up and 2
volts for down.

Don,

The soundcard program AO49Rcv from AMSAT.org, a computer with a good quality
sound card. Take the audio output from your receiver and put into the
soundcard input. Tune to the AO-40 MB and away you go. You will have to stay
with your receiver to correct for Doppler or hook up the auto Doppler
correction from AO40Rcv, via the serial port to your receiver so the pgm can
update your receiver. I use the Mic Up/Down feature to adjust a Yaese FT100D
which I use exclusively for Telm.

Telm will be very much needed during this up coming period. Remember, the
data does not have to be all good CRCs. The total submissions are combined
so your bad data bites are covered by someone else’s submission.
Good luck, and your help will be greatly appreciated.

What do I need to start coping telemetry on ao-40?
Would like to get setup before the shutdown so I can copy and send in
reports.
