Asian cordless phones are less of a threat to high-orbit satellites because the satellite requires several hundred watts of ERP to get a decent uplink signal (except near perigee). It's definitely a problem for LEO satellites where 100W or less can cause significant QRM.
Sad to say, but I guess that's a good reason not to make satellite uplinks TOO sensitive.
