Oatmeal frequencies are fine for the faint of hart. There is nothing like
being on the front edge of a GigaHZ signal. I have built more antennas that
did not perform well, and thought me much, sine AO-40, then I did in the
past 40 years. Bravo AO-40!!

ICOM 735, a fine radio indeed.  $450.  Antenna wire is cheap.
And H.F. is active 24/7.  I rest my case.
