As you may recall, several weeks ago I posted the results of an interference
test on my AO-40 receive setup from a 802.11b Wireless Access Point (WAP).
Following this email, Phil KA9Q asked me to try it on the lower channels
which would directly conflict with the AO-40 passband. I am pleased to tell
you that in my case there was no interference.
Receive Setup
Yaesu 847
SSB UEK 2000 Downconverter (0.6 dB NF)
Conifer 24 dBi Mag Grid
AO-40 Beacon Level - S-5.5 above S-0.5 noise level at 55000 km (12-1-01).
Antenna was pointed directly at the WAP from a distance of 6 meters.
Transmitter
Linksys WAP-11 (Channels 1-11 tested - 2400-2483.5 MHz)
I did notice a weak, intermittant (every 1-2 minutes) click while
transmitting on Channel 2 and receiving on 2401.339. It was so faint, It was
almost overlooked.
