RE: AO40Rcv and soundboards?

I use a G3RUH hardware demod to auto-control the doppler on the rig. That
centres around 1589 Hz, ... when centred here both the hardware demod and
the AO40RCV (running in parallel) get 100% copy, provided that the squint
ain't too nasty, ... naturally the G3RUH patch+dish help :^)

I have used two sound cards thus far with AO40Rcv under Win2kPro. The
first a Creative SB16, the second a Creative Labs Audigy. The Audigy
performs better. No scientific analysis---just observations from running a
telemetry system for several months now.

For example, the Audigy seems to get good CRC with lower input (volume)
levels than the SB16. And the Audigy has a wider "sweet spot" for good
CRC. The SB16 really seemed to like about 1200 Hz, while the Audigy works
well up to about 1400 to 1500 or so (same exact receiver in the TS-790A,
mind you.)
