Despite the facts Tom mentioned a 1m dish can be used successfully on 
70cm AO-40 uplink. It was done by by Freddy, ON6UG. He uses 1m dish with 
a single loop element fed with 30 W. I could hear him well even with my 
mediocre listening performance.
