Hi John,
The FT-847 is wired as a 9 pin DTE (male.)
Your PC is wired for either a 9 or 25 pin DTE (male.)
So, you need a female-to-female null modem cable.
For 9 pin connectors, use female connectors and
Doug's wiring below or you can go to Radio Shack
and buy their 9-pin (male-to-female) null modem cable
and a 9-pin female-to-female adapter.
