Ladies and Gents:
Have been experimenting with the various spreadsheets for construction
of the L-band uplink station.
Assumption: single Mitsubishi brick, allegedly capable of 18 watts
output on SSB; more like 10 to 15.
Considered a single helix at 16db max gain (based on the NRAO graphs).
This works, but leaves no margin.
Considered a pair of 16db helices, 19db -- 11 to 18watts would activate
LEILA.
Also considered a pair of 18db yagis, for 18dbc. 15 to 18 watts
activates LEILA.
Does this analysis concurr with those who are already on L-band uplink?
Any other thoughts/comments??
Thanks & 73,
Jim
