Re: TVRO dishes and AO-40...



A 1.2 meter dish will fit on a G5400 but must be carefully counterweighted
so as not to destroy the elevation rotator. I used one for AO-40 mode S and
it had a 8 degree beamwidth which was OK for manual pointing. If any wind is
present the dish must be pointed straight up as the full windload exceeds
the capability of the rotator. My present 0.8 meter dish is much more
manageable and works well with automatic tracking.
