Pardon me. This seems like another USA "thing." The ARRL once again
deciding how to use the "USA spectrum." In this case for the benefit of
Kids, newcomers, etc. I say GREAT!
BUT, and a BIG BUT, the Amateur Radio spectrum is more or less shared
worldwide. One of the BASIC tenants of Ham Radio is International
Friendship. It seems that some international coordination might be in
order. As I remember the old days - 50's and 60's there were common
"novice" bands around the world, where "newcomers" could share WORLDWIDE!
Make friends and maybe even alliviate senseless stupidity ;-) But the
insuing years have not be kind to Amateur Radio.
Where is a country by country listing of license class priviledges. Perhaps
some international coordination is in order??? Most U.S. kids can call each
other on the telephone or use e-mail, lets not isolate them from other kids
worldwide!
Just my 53 year-old kid opinion...
I would love to get e-mail from all "foreigners" on this list with a
listing of their nations License Class priviledges. I'm very interested in
VHF/UHF priviledges, kids usiing Satellites to Connect! I'll do a nice
webpage!
