Well, it's more a question of real estate than construction skills. I'm
VERY fortunate to have an incredibly cool landlady who gives me the run
of the roof. I live in a large, two-story commercial building over a
business, and right now I have on the roof (ahem!) two of Jerry's
Eggbeater-II's, two homebrew QHA's, a 2M vertical, a 6M vertical, a 75'
sloper with SGC SmartTuner, a pair of stacked 2M loops, a pair of
stacked 70cm loops, and an M2 2M9SSB under a KLM 11el 70cm yagi on a 5'
tripod, spaced 48" apart, about 24" above the rotator. The Glen Martin
8' roof tower is up without antennae, because I don't have my G-5500
yet, so it almost looks out-of-place. I have a 24" "AirLan" dish with a
linear polarized Seavey feed, and that will go on the cross-boom with
another KLM 11el 70cm yagi (hey....I know I have two, but they were on
close-out!) and a homebrew 1269 helix.
GAWD....where do I find the time to do this?
Anyway....I'm hoping the 24" dish/Seavey feed will give at least a
little chance of hearing the bird, and I'm planning on building a helix
feed for it, as soon as I can decide who's advice to take on
illumination angles and 'stuff'.
A 1.2 M dish would be nice, but I'm running out of space upstairs!
73, Jim
