Re: Coax cable

Roy,

I am using LMR-400UF and LMR-400. It works fine. I use the LMR-400 UF
(Ultra Flexible) for rotating. If the connectors will support 9913 they
will support LMR-400 (Both types). The center conductor is a little too big
for a standard type 'N' connector. Just buy the 9913 type 'N' connectors
(they have bigger center pins) and they will work fine. Personally I have
had lots of trouble with the 'N' connectors that solder on like a PL-259.
They go on easy, look great, but always seem to add a noticeable impedance
bump at 435 MHz and above. LMR-400 will use a standard PL-259 connector.
LMR-600 requires special connectors.

I think you will be happy in general the LMR has held up much better
than 9913 did. Heliax is great stuff, but you can go broke quick putting
connectors on it.

Strictly My Opinion, 73,
Joe
