Here is a reply I got from someone who knows the HAM crew at McMurdo:

Hi Bob;
   How are you? I forwarded your message to the QSL Mgr for KC4USV.
Larry will talk to the crew at McMurdo Sound tomorrow night. I asked
if he could forward your e-mail to the crew also. I  don't know if they will
be able to do anything, but it's worth a shot. I talked to KC4USV last
Saturday
night. I will try to get him again tomorrow too!
