Re: "The Dish" and 'working dogs'



Hi Peter and others,
    I heard many years ago from someone who was involved, that the NASA
instalation at Tidbinbilla was performing "marginally"  but it is further to
the east than Parks and so the moon rose earlier at Tidbinbilla.  It was
reported that the Parks Radio Telescope had a solid P5 picture it was
decided that the link from Parks would be taken as soon as the moon rose at
Parks which they did. I don't know at what time the link was switched but I
heard that the Neil Armstrong stepping out onto the Moon was received at
Parks.
