I'm running one into a Drake/Millicom downconverter, 27dB gain, 3db NF.
It works well enough to makes some QSOs just above the noise on a good
pass, but I can't claim to be completely "happy", I suspect a preamp in
front of that will put me in the "happy" zone. As soon as I'm
"gainfully" (nyuk, nyuk) employed I'm going to add one.
On uplink I run an FT-847 into a 30 element 70cm CP yagi (Hygain
7030SA) with 14dBdc gain. I get uniformly good signal reports with that.
