Re: what a night

The details:

39" HyperLink Tech BBQ dish
1' LMR 400 to a UEK-3000 .7 dB NF/30 dB gain downconverter
135' RG8x

My tree is at 110 to 120 degrees ( depending on elevation)

Bad CRC's started at a squint of 22.5, with the signal still very strong,
but spin modulating.

SNR is approximate, done with a calibrated attenuator. I added attenuation
until I could just barely hear the telemetry. Notice as the bird got out of
the right edge of the tree, signals started climbing, even though the squint
angle was getting worse.

The *.xls spreadsheet predicted a SNR of 27.5 dB during the times I was
making measurements, so it is doing a fine job. It's also apparent that I'm
hearing just fine. Now I have to wait for anothe pass in my tree window. 73
