[amsat-bb] AO-40 Mode?

I'm hearing the beacon and several stations on S band from AO-40, but
can't hear myself using a U uplink. Is it in only a L/S mode?
Seems to be working with signals about the same strength as AO-10.
No preamp here, so when that gets installed, sigs should be better.
