If you got one of these little beauties from N0NSV and wanted to use a preamp with it, here's a how-to on powering the preamp directly from the downconverter:

Unlike the Drake, but like the TSI 3733, the input is at ground potential, so the N-connector must be separated from the circuit board so an isolation capacitor can be installed. The only parts required are a 8 pF cap and a small RF choke.
