ISS School Group Contact

Bill & Brian,

Good Questions.

The ARISS team, at times, uses our telebridge stations to perform contacts
for the schools. The school is linked to the telebridge station through a
phone connection provided by Worldcom. This is similar to when NASA used
ground stations to communicate with the Shuttle (before TDRS) and the
capcom would talk to the crew through this remote station.

For the Peebles contact, we used our ground station, W6SRJ, located at the
Santa Rosa Jr. College in Santa Rosa, CA.

Your keps are correct. Those that could listen were on the West Coast, not
East Coast.

FYI, we have other ground stations in Southern CA, Hawaii, Maryland,
Houston, Florida, Australia, and South Africa.

I heard the Susan on the HT loud and clear here in Phoenix (my temporary QTH).

Thanks for asking.

I show the same results. Also NASA homepage does not
agree either...so wonder what is the correct orbit times?
