Re: Seeking info on stacked helices



I have a 3 x 16-turn array and it does provide 4 dB more gain than a single
helix. However, the helical antenna has sidelobes that pick up thermal noise
from the ground and surrounding objects. A dish with a short helix and cup
reflector as the feed worked better for receiving AO-40.
