Using ao40 183.97 element the satellite is where it should be to within a
degree, but squint must
be really poor right now, for awhile there was no signal even while sweeping
for a frequency,
and now I have it up on 2401.3320 (with doppler under 200 hz right now),
AO40 seems to be swinging the antenna side around this way now, at 91.39
west 42.01 north......04:11:34 7/8/2001z I fixed my dish telemetry so now I
can point by remote control without having to go out there and
set it with the inclinometer.
At this squint, the beacon is approx 8db weaker at best peak than what I
have seen before
at this range advertised on the satellite as along/alat 262 -2 Now its no
better than -98 dbm where I have seen -91 before, definate need to move it
back around to earth.
Anyone else tracking it at all right now?
------later in this pass: -97dbm 0/194blocks ao40rcv gets chunks of
data
by watching it for awhile one can see which data was dropout and which was
on a peak.
The xm1 and xm2 satellites are on the air, xm1 at 85 west provides some
pretty strong
data carriers, at 2333.5 and 2444.5 at -52 dbm, noise -87 at that wide
bandwidth.
Just turned over to xm1 in a 3khz bw (about a 1 meg bandwidth to the
carrier)
2333.500 -67dbm in 3 k bandwidth 2332.7-2334.2 with spectral regrowth at
2334.571 -83 dbm. So this signal is 25 db stronger than ao40 ought to be
good for
some testing or something. Talk about a monster signal.
My point angle is derived from c band broadcast satellites and the orbit and
point angle agree very well
with this one, but the norad is
