Re: AO-40 Beacon



AO-40 is oriented for arcjet firing so that the antenna is not pointed
towards the Earth and signals are weak except near perigee. I can hear the
beacon right now with a 33" dish, CP feed and 0.7 dB NF preamp but the
signal level is 10-20 dB below what is required to copy telemetry frames
without CRC errors.
