Surely you can turn on wrapping to your display width in your Mutt
client? Sending unwrapped email is pretty common. 

Like the blonde who watched a video that started with "This movie has
been modified from it's original format to fit the size of your screen"
said: "How did they know how big my screen is?" :-)

The FT-847 serial port wiring *is* pretty stupid. Of course the
*original* sin about serial port connectors was comitted by IBM ESD:
DB-25S on the PC parallel port card, DB-25P on the PC serial card.
