Don, W4VQA received one of these last week, and has been
looking at various ways to feed power to it when up on the
tower.
He has two down-converters under "test" -- a DEM and a
TransSystem. He would like to be able to feed power from the
downconverter thru its input connector, to the preamp.
After initial inspection of each unit, he was thinking the
following:
On the TransSystem, insert a chip cap at the input and
decouple the DC with a small choke.
On the DEM, not sure. Looks like there is a coil to ground
at the input. Looking for ideas on this one. Assistance from
the factory may be necessary here.
Question: has anyone interfaced a preamp in this manner to
either of these two units?
Thanks and 73,
Art N3OY
