Re: AMSAT has a SECRET!



See http://www.amsat.org/amsat/sats/ao40/rudak/. It says that RUDAK will
provide PACSAT-compatible bulletin board capability with 9600 bps FSK
uplinks and downlinks and operation at up to 153.6 kbps later on. For those
that have never used PACSATs this means that you can post text messages and
images for downloading by others.

Only 20 W are allocated to RUDAK and the requirements in the 1999 ARRL
Handbook indicate that you will need about 4 times the G/T on the downlink
and 8 dB more power on the uplink for 9600 bps digital operation.
